ABOUT US

Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance is a community-based development organization (CBDO), and as such, has incredible reach into the community. The uniqueness of Cody Rouge is that it has the second highest population of children between 0 to 18 in the city of Detroit. CRCAA has experienced tremendous success in engaging youth through immersive programming, stabilizing the neighborhoods, and engaging the community through convenings and activation of community efforts. Because of its in-depth engagement processes, CRCAA functions as a neighborhood convener and facilitator, encouraging residents, youth, families, business owners, and churches to come together to solve problems. When CRCAA was founded in 2007 with the support of the Skillman Foundation, its leadership understood that young people and residents are essential to neighborhood development and decision-making.

BOUNDARIES

Located on the far west side of Detroit, Cody Rouge is a primarily residential neighborhood of roughly 35,000 people.  Our primary service area goes from M-153 (Ford Road) on the South to I-96 (Jeffries Freeway) on the North and includes Rouge Park on the West over to Greenfield Road on the East. We also have strong relationships throughout the Westside of Detroit and are deeply connected to community development groups citywide.
